Ann Blandford has been recently awarded two awards! She is a recipient of the prestigious IFIP TC13 Pioneer Award and the 2021 SIGCHI Award. Congratulations to Ann!

The International Federation for Information Processing Technical Committee on Human-Computer Interaction (IFIP TC13) has announced the 2020/2021 winners of the prestigious IFIP TC13 Pioneer in Human‐Computer Interaction Awards. IFIP TC13 appoints pioneers to honour the greatest contributors to the development and growth of the field of human‐computer interaction (HCI). An IFIP TC13 Pioneer is someone who, through active participation in IFIP Technical Committees or related IFIP groups, has made outstanding contributions to the educational, theoretical, technical, commercial or professional aspects of analysis, design, construction, evaluation and use of interactive systems.

Ann Blandford has also been awarded the 2021 SIGCHI Award! The SIGCHI Academy is an honorary group of individuals who have made substantial contributions to the field of human-computer interaction. These are the principal leaders of the field, whose efforts have shaped the disciplines, and led the research in human-computer interaction. The criteria for election to the SIGCHI Academy are: cumulative controbutions to the field; impact on the field through development of new research directions and/or innovations; influence on the work of others; reasonably active participant in the SCM SIGCHI community.
