UCLIC is expanding: Three Faculty positions available!

Applications are invited for three Faculty positions in UCLIC:

1 Professor of Digital Health
1 Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Digital Health
1 Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in Digital Mental Health

We are looking for three world-class academics in the areas of Digital Health and Digital Mental Health to join the UCL Interaction Centre (UCLIC) at UCL. One lectureship will be a joint appointment between UCLIC and the Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology; the other two posts will be appointments in UCLIC and the Computer Science Dept.

UCLIC is expanding in the area of digital health, bringing together researchers from diverse backgrounds, to develop digital and medical technologies that can transform lives across the globe. The professorial post is a replacement post, and the two lectureship posts are new. An exciting challenge is to develop new digital technologies that enable universal healthcare access and can enhance mental health. We are also interested in researchers who have experience in using in-the-wild research methods for evaluating healthcare quality/outcomes that can demonstrate enhanced health and well-being of populations. For the lectureship in digital mental health, clinically qualified postholders can apply for and undertake a part-time clinical role in the NHS or related services.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join UCL as it expands its interdisciplinary and leading-edge digital health agenda. UCL has a long track record of championing interdisciplinary research (e.g. through the UCL Grand Challenges) and has established collaborations with local health providers through various channels including the UCL Institute of Healthcare Engineering, the Global Disability Innovation Hub and the recently launched Institute of Mental Health.

UCLIC is unique in that it straddles Computer Science and Psychology. It is a world-leading Centre of Excellence in Human-Computer Interaction teaching and research, studying interactions between people and technology, and working collaboratively with the research community and industry. The Department of Computer Science is a large department with over 100 academic staff. It is one of the top-rated research institutions in the world, and currently the top recipient of Horizon 2020 funding in Europe. It sits at the nexus of a broad range of inter-disciplinary collaborations across UCL. The Division of Psychology and Language Sciences (PALS) was ranked 2nd in the world in Psychology in the Shanghai World Rankings. The Research Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology is a Department in PALS and undertakes world-leading research and teaching. It brings together researchers in a range of disciplines such as clinical psychology, psychoanalysis, neuroscience, education, communication, behaviour change and developmental psychopathology.
