UCLIC Research Seminar 8th March: Cecilia Katzeff, KTH Royal Institute of Technology – A Design Perspective On Sustainable Practices Related To Energy And Food

Abstract

The seminar will circle around the general theme of sustainable practices, what is meant by sustainable practices in relation to energy consumption and especially in relation to electricity use and food practices. The seminar will also explore how interaction design may play a role in the emergence of sustainable practices and examples of design concepts will be provided.

Biography

Cecilia Katzeff is an Associate Professor in Human-Computer Interaction at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. She is affiliated with the division of Environmental Strategies Research and with the Centre for Sustainable Communications (CESC). She was previously the research director for the group Energy Design at the Interactive Institute Swedish ICT, where she managed design research projects in the field of energy use. Currently, her research also focuses interaction design in relation to food practices.
