Giovanna Ceroni

Giovanna was awarded a Degree in Italian Philology & Classics (first class), University of Pisa, and holds an MA in Linguistics, University of Westminster. After spending over 15 years in publishing, working as a senior medical editor, she branched out into project management, working with the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe, The Cochrane Collaboration, and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, among others.
At UCL, she worked for a number of years as Executive Assistant to the Director of the UCL Institute of Health Informatics and Farr Institute; she subsequently worked as a Programme Co-ordinator in the UCL/UCLH Clinical and Research Informatics Unit, and is currently a (part-time) project manager on an NIHR AI award exploring how natural language processing (NLP) can assist health professionals in structuring freetext/clinician's notes in electronic health records.
At UCLIC, she is responsible for implementing the Centre's comms strategy and works with the Centre Manager to ensure that the UCLIC website and social media channels are underpinned by effective and user-led principles.
