Brief biography

Gowdham Prabhakar enjoys building robots and producing music. He finished his Bachelors in Electronics and Communication at Anna University (CEG/Red Building). He did his Master of Design in Electronics systems at Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Kancheepuram. He pursued his PhD in Human Computer Interaction (HCI) at Intelligent Inclusive Interaction Design (I3D) Lab under Centre for Product Design and Manufacturing (CPDM) at Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. At present, he is a postdoctoral researcher at Multi-Sensory Devices Group (MSD), Computer Science, University College London (UCL).
His thesis focused on interaction design and distraction detection of drivers in automotive under supervision of Prof. Pradipta Biswas. He is working on optimisation for acoustophoretic volumetric displays with Prof. Sriram Subramanian. His passion in music has also developed interests in building opportunities to bridge Music and HCI.
