Brief biography
In my PhD, I am exploring embellishments in data visualisations and its impact in cognitive processes. The primary goal of the research is to step closer to answering a higher level question and that is what makes a visualisation effective? The research contribution will be in the form of data visualization design guidelines for the general public. Prior joining UCLIC I worked at UAE University as a Teaching Assistant at the College of Information Technology. I have received my MSc in Web Technology from the University of Southampton where my dissertation was about using data visualisations and government open data to raise awareness about water scarcity in the Gulf.
