I completed an MEng degree in Computer Science at University College London, spending one year at City University of Hong Kong. I have experience in software engineering, data science and machine learning, having worked in both a corporate and startup environment.
I am interested in the way we interact with smart and autonomous systems. Increasingly, we are using sophisticated machine learning systems to help us make better decisions and improve our lives. However, given the large amounts of data involved and the complexity of the probabilistic models, it becomes very difficult to make sense of a model's underlying mechanisms. The aim of my research is to advance our understanding of human interaction with smart and autonomous systems, and to identify best design practices, ensuring a positive development of AI.
