Research

My research is concerned with how people deal with interruptions. Interruptions can disrupt performance, with potentially serious consequences in safety-critical environments. How do people decide whether to deal with an interruption or leave it until later? When people know they will be interrupted, how do they prepare? After an interruption, which factors affect whether people able to resume their tasks correctly? My work has focused on answering these questions.

Brief biography

I am a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at UCLIC. My research is currently funded by a personal EPSRC Doctoral Prize. The title of the project is "Working from home: investigating how interruptions impact remote workers". You can check on the status of this project at crowdproject.uk.

I was previously a PDRA on the EPSRC-funded CHI+MED project, which aims to make medical devices safer through improved interaction science and design.
