Brief biography

Yoana is a PhD student under the supervision of Dr Duncan Brumby and Prof Anna Cox. Her research explores questions related to work-life balance in the digital age. Her main interest is enabling high potential individuals to excel at both their careers and personal lives.

She also holds the role of a Demonstrator for the MSc in Human- Computer Interaction at UCL. This role involves supporting teaching activities, supervising and mentoring students, and marking assignments and dissertations.

Prior to coming to UCLIC, Yoana graduated the BSc Psychology at UCL with a distinction. During that time, she did her dissertation project and an internship at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscince with Prof Patrick Haggard. Those projects looked at the neural correlates of voluntary task switching.

She has also consulted for UCL on reports on digitalizing doctoral-level education, again with Prof Haggard. Her interest in education is also evident from self-started initiatives to mentor psychology students on their academic skills. Finally, Yoana has experience with translating text-based psychometric questionnaires to image-based tests.
