Embedding the CHI Student Design Competition into Project-Based Learning

Abstract

In this paper we report a project-based learning
approach to the teaching of User-Centered Design
(UCD). We describe the alignment of the learning
outcomes, learning and teaching activities and the
assessment for the module, and discuss the advantages of embedding the CHI Student Design Competition brief in the module.
