Taught Postgraduate Programmes

Human-Computer Interaction MSc

Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is concerned with the design and use of computer and mobile technology, focusing on the interfaces between people and systems. This interdisciplinary programme sits at the intersection of engineering, behavioural sciences, and design. It combines academic rigour with practical and professional skills highly valued by employers. The programme can be studied full-time, part-time (2 years) or on a modular-flexible basis (up to 4 years). A PGCert (60 credits) and PGDIP (120 credits) are also available.

Disability, Design and Innovation MSc

Disability Innovation has huge potential to make a fairer world for everybody. To accelerate this movement we need a new generation of pioneers who understand the big picture and can bring together the stakeholders needed to make a difference. Offered by Computer Science and GDI Hub, our Disability, Design and Innovation MSc is aimed at exceptional students with the drive and determination to push the boundaries of this new area of study spanning disability, design, innovation and international development.

Systems Engineering for the Internet of Things MSc

This programme harnesses the power of academic expertise in Systems Engineering for the Internet of Things and brings it together with perspectives from industry experts and real-world customers. It brings together electronics, programming and the Internet of Things (IoT) with entrepreneurship and the skills needed to identify real needs in the physical environment. You will gain hands-on experience of everything from idea generation to prototyping and deployment.

PhD in HCI Research Programme

We offer a PhD research programme in HCI. Our students can be registered in either one of our parent departments, Psychology and Language Sciences or Computer Science. Please see our PhD Programme section for more information.
